Here's a superfast and simple hot dip recipe which is a perfect choice for 4th of July feast. Raving reviews are guaranteed and the total damage on your side is about $10 and less than a half hour of cooking time with only 5 minutes involving your active participation – the rest is done by the oven.
You will need:
- 1 package cream cheese, softened
- 1 large garlic clove, minced
- A sprinkle of Worcestershire sauce
- 3-4 Tbsp mayonnaise
- ½ cup or more grated cheddar or mozzarella
- 1 can corn, drained (or use fresh cooked corn instead)
- 1 small can mild roasted green chilies
- 1 tsp finely chopped hot jalapenos (or serrano peppers)
- 1 heaping tsp chopped cilantro
- 1 heaping tsp sliced green onions or chives
- Tortilla chips/scoops for serving
Preheat the oven to 425F. In a bowl, stir all the ingredients together, put in an oven-proof dish and place in the oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the surface of the dip turns golden brown and starts bubbling.
Serve right away with chips.
